Vacationing on a Budget

The weather is finally warming up and Spring Break is upon us. Whether you’re a student or not, the temptation of a vacation is sure to be on your mind. Although spending a week in Hawaii may sound ideal, not everyone can afford to drop thousands of dollars on an escape. I have to admit, I am one of them.

Raising an almost toddler and spoiling my dogs has its cost. My budget doesn’t allow for an extravagant vacay. Still, a little break from reality and responsibilities sounds amazing.

Plan a Beach Day

What’s free and can never be boring…the beach! My vacations are never complete without a beach day. Here in the desert, the closest beaches we can find are in Laughlin or at Mandalay Bay. They’re nice, but they just miss that authentic beach feel.

Santa Monica was my summer hangout this year. There was so much to see I couldn’t help but marvel at the outdoor artwork. From beach art to building, just strolling through the city is the perfect vacation.

Window Shopped Til’ I Dropped

I ventured over to downtown Pasadena and was amazed at all they had to offer. From a tesla pop-up shop to every home store imaginable, I didn’t need to spend a dime to have a ball. My husband and I spent hours exploring the many blocks lined with little shops and local favorites.
