When you get married, everyone around you has an experience they want to share. Some are a little odd, many show an entire new side of your friends and others are just amazing. Of all the great words of wisdom my friends and family have shared, one always remains the best. Keep God first always.
“…A cord of three strands is not broken easily,” – Ecclesiastes 4:12
This is the key to a healthy relationship. My husband and I let God be our guide and worry about loving Him and each other. We know that He’ll take care of us. And that He has our best interest in mind.
“But seek first his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33
I’m able to let the little things go because God will never fail me. He won’t set me up for failure or forget to give me a way out of a bad situation.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to proper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
When I keep Jesus as the standard for how I love and care for my husband, I give him grace, unconditional love, respect and encouragement. When I don’t, I can be judgmental, angry and unforgiving.
God first always = happy marriage forever
