Commercialization of holidays runs rampant especially in the United States. Santa is hitting the shelves before the turkey has even hit the table. The holidays are accepted as a time for giving and loving one another. But the best part of Christmas is overlooked by so many.
Most people know the story of the little baby in the manger, born on Christmas day. But do you really know who this baby is? No that was not a typo. This baby has grown and saved the world. AND, he is still living.
The reason for the season is Jesus Christ. The reason for giving is because God gave us his son (John 3:16). The reason for loving, is because God first loved us (1 John 4:19).
So stuff your stocking and fill you tree, but never forget what CHRISTmas really means.
Merry Christmas!
