Quiet Time: (N) term used to describe regular individual sessions of Christian spiritual activities, such as prayer, private meditation, or study of the Bible.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed” (Mark 1:35).
This is one of the most important parts of being a disciple. This is your life line to communication and building a relationship with God. These undisturbed times are meant to bring you closer to God and really understand where He is leading his life.
Although it sounds like a lot of pressure, quiet times are amazing. Personally, I don’t like my time with God to a morning or afternoon reading. Sometimes I enjoy praise worthy songs, sometimes I’m studying something out in the bible and the best times are when I’m sharing this moment with another person.
Your quiet time is personalized to your relationship with God. When I was learning to become a disciple, this concept was very strange to me. Start with a daily devotional. These will help you stay on track each day and grow closer to God in the end.
