“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of you heart.” Psalm 37:4
prayer
1. a devout petition to God or an object of worship.
2. a spiritual communion with God or an object of worship, as insupplication, thanksgiving, adoration, or confession.
Whether you have an active prayer life or have never prayed at all, understanding prayer is important for even the most established disciple. Henry Blackaby said is the best, “Prayer aligns your life with God so He chooses to demonstrate His power through you.”
Our plans don’t always align with God’s plans. We base our desires on what we can presently see and experience. God bases his plans on the big picture. He can see our stories from beginning to end because he created them.
So what is the purpose of prayer?
“[It’s] not convince God to change our circumstances but to prepare you to be involved in God’s activity.”
By allowing God to hear the deepest parts of your heart, you’re giving him access to help you and building a relationship that will last for eternity.
