Pumping Spiritual Gains

bro“Do you even lift?”

Ironic how this hilarious meme can actually apply to your spiritual gains. But like working out, getting stronger in your faith requires discipline and hard work.

“Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness.” – 1 Timothy 4:7

Getting spiritually fit means knowing your scriptures and taking them to heart. The bible says to hide God’s word in your heart (Pslam 119:11) and reflect on it day and night (Psalm 1:2).

Think about a fitness competitor. The eat, sleep and breathe fitness. They remove unhealthy habits in their lives in order to keep their eyes set on the prize. As a follower of Jesus, we should practice this same mind-set. Keep our eyes fixed on God and all times and remove the bad habits in our life that will fight to distract us from our goal of eternity.
